My client is a group of NHS Acute Trusts in the East Midlands Region of England, who have come together to strategically plan and collaborate on their collective digital transformation journey, with the ambition to strategically operate as one health care system.
Their vision is to have the best EPR in the NHS for the benefit of their patients, staff and population.
The DDC member organisations have embarked on a digital excellence journey to implement a nationally leading Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system that will transform the quality of care for their patients and staff by having instantly accessible information using the latest mobile technology, reducing paper usage and utilising clinical decision support tools.
The Opportunity:
As the Central Training Manager, you will report into the Central Team and shall be responsible for all aspects of leadership and management of the Collaborative’s central training approach. This will include the design and delivery of the organisations required EPR training, with the ultimate aim of developing a Centre of Training Excellence.
You will work in partnership to:
- Develop a collaborative training strategy and approach through to implementation
- Review capability and capacity to deliver centralised training at member organisations
- Coordinate and support the efficient scoping, sharing and creation of training artefacts for clinical and non-clinical applications
- Support improvement projects, as a training SME where appropriate.
Using your excellent knowledge of enterprise-wide training management and theory you will:
- Lead on the discovery and scoping of a Centre of Learning Excellence presenting an options paper to the board for decision.
- Scope and define the structure of a central training team, including administrative and technical support, providing line management to individuals as appointments into posts are made.
- Support scoping and development of training artefacts to enable centralised delivery of EPR familiarisation, design awareness and configuration training.
- Be required to contribute to business cases and planning where appropriate.
- Travel to the member hospital sites as is required.
Experience
It is essential the successful candidate has the following experience:
- Extensive NHS experience
- Demonstrable experience of leading enterprise wide EPR training programmes
- Demonstrable experience in strategy, approach and course development, planning and delivery
- Experience in leading and contributing to the success of a multi-disciplinary team as effective team member
- Experience of contributing to the development of policies and procedures
- Experience of managing a training budget
- Understanding of NHS Digital systems and services
- Experience in the assessment and use of eLearning tools i.e. Captivate, Userlane
