Position Overview

You have a curious mind geared to create engaging and innovative training programs that resonate with learners. You’re an adult educator at heart, and your background and expertise in instructional design ensures you know how to partner with clients to design the right learning solutions for them. Your customer-centric approach is just what we need as our next Instructional Designer. 

 

Joining our Operational Learning team, you will work with clients to identify their training needs and design,develop, and evaluate effective learning solutions including instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, on-the-job training, and eLearning content. 

 

Before you start building excellent training programs, you buildrespectfuland  relationships with your clients and your peers. You know the best ideas come from collaboration, and you’re motivated to think outside the box when developing unique solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Establishing collaborative relationships with Gas Operations clients and subject matter experts.
  • Developing knowledge of our business, including distribution, transmission and renewable energy.
  • Executing  on Gas training deliverables based on operational priorities 
  • Participating in department-driven training and process improvement initiatives.

What it takes:

  • A diploma in Instructional Design, Adult Learning or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution, plus three years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and methodology, specifically ADDIE.
  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience with Articulate 360 and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with clients, subject matter experts and peers
  • A passion for innovation and a forward-thinking, analytical approach to implementing progressive training solutions 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Project management experience preferred

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
